The mine site is closed to public access.
From time to time, officially recognized groups are allowed on to the mine site to gain a better understanding of the site and the issues and tasks that are currently being addressed. In June of 2005, a group of Congressional officials toured the mine site under the direction of the USEPA. What follows is a summary of the materials that were handed out during the tour and what could be expected in future authorized and officially conducted tours.
